On Saturday, Ron and I took Julia and Tanner to the Auto/Boat Speedshow at the fairgrounds. It was a lot of fun looking at all the cars and watching the kids get excited about the new things they were seeing. In addition to the cars, there were also some celebrity appearances by the cast of Happy Days. So we jumped in line to meet The Fonz. As we inched closer in line, sign on the table caught our eye. It was a price list for the items they were selling. We had no intention of buying any items, but then we noticed the fine print. $20 per autograph?? What?? I couldn't believe it! I told Ron, maybe we'll just ask to get a picture of the kids with him....using our own camera. That's when he pointed out that photos with The Fonz were $20 a pop...even when using your own camera. Decisions, decisions. When it came our turn to meet him I was pleasantly surprised at how nice he is! He shook our hands and was very personable. I asked him if I could take a picture of him with Ron and our kids. He said "sure, but you need to be in the picture as well." Great, just great. After the picture, he knelt down and was talking to Julia one-on-one. He then kissed her forehead and thanked her for coming to see him. That made her day. After we walked away Julia said "Mom, the football coach from that movie (Waterboy) gave me a kiss!" It was adorable.
Of course we could not leave the speedshow without seeing Dora and Spongebob. The kids were so excited and couldn't wait to see them. Of course we got to their area just as they had left for a 15 minute break, so we walked around for a little while to pass the time. When they came back, we quickly jumped in line to let them have a turn. I had no doubt that Julia would snuggle up with them for a picture, but Tanner is a different story. He likes to take a look, but won't get too close.
This is as close as Tanner would get to Dora, and he looks less than thrilled in the picture....but he really was having a great time!
And again with Spongebob...he's standing at least 4 feet in front of him. We all had a great time.

No, I haven't seen your baseball....
One of the funniest movies I have ever seen is "There's Something About Mary". It's been awhile since I've watched it, but anyone who has seen it remembers the line "Have you seen my baseball?" as Mary's older brother Warren is searching for his most prized posession.
That being said, when I woke up this morning, I didn't know I would be laughing harder than I have in a long time. Tanner woke up and the first thing he did was put on his new baseball helmet and glove. He walked into the living room where I was feeding Olivia. He cocked his head to one side and said "You seen my baseball Mom?" I held in the laughter for a moment and replied, "No, I haven't seen your baseball Warren". He looked at me confused and said "I not Warren, I Tanner!" Oh, I haven't laughed that hard in a really long time. What a funny guy.

Happy Birthday Julia!!
Today is Julia's 5th birthday....well she's 5 going on 15. We celebrated it yesterday with family and friends. Once again, she was spoiled rotten. We all had a great time.
The majority of her gifts from us were sports equipment to get her all ready for t-ball this summer. I am looking forward to being the parent on the sideline cheering on my kiddo. Of course we had to get Tanner a helmet and glove too....(the helmet more for safety concerns when they're hitting balls in the back yard). It was a lot of fun and I can't wait till it gets warmer outside so we can be out there playing.

She's coming on a jet plane....
Yay!! My old roommate Natalie is coming for a visit. I can't wait! April 2nd is the big day. It's been awhile since we've seen eachother, so it will be fun. Although I can't imagine that coming to a house with 3 small kids will be much of a vacation for her. Ha ha. I have made an appointment for us to get pedicures and hair treatments the night after she gets here. Little did I know that Natalie is not a fan of pedicures, but this will convince her otherwise. There is nothing better than a good pedicure...and she'll learn to love them too! :) We are going to be pampered and it will be wonderful! Too bad we don't still have our teletubby pj's!!
It's just....a little crush...
I have been a dedicated American Idol fan since season one. If I'm not home to watch the show, I make sure it's set to record on the dvr. After Tuesday nights performance by David Cook, the song "Hello" is on my top ten list. When I watched it for the first time, I got goosebumps and had to rewind and watch it again. I'm a little embarassed to admit that I have developed a crush on this wanna-be idol. I have since watched his performance at least a dozen times and sheepishly admit that I have thought about how steamy and sexy it would be to have a guy sing a song like that. For whatever reason I can't get it out of my head!! What a silly fantasy, but the more I watch the video, the hotter he gets. Perhaps its time to stop watching the video.....*sigh*.
