Over Memorial Day weekend we took a trip to Auburn, WA to visit with Ron's mom and siblings. On Friday afternoon we all piled into the car and started off on the 5 hour road trip. To our surprise the kids made it over half way before needing to stop. They did so good! We arrived Friday night and had pizza and played games. Saturday morning we got up early and got ready to head out to Woodland Park Zoo. We were at the zoo for about 6 hours and still weren't able to see all the exhibits. The zoo is HUGE and the kids were such troopers. Olivia did great in her stroller and we could not believe that Julia and Tanner kept up with us. We must have walked about 5 miles that day. At the end of our zoo visit Tanner fell asleep in the stroller and Ron had to carry Julia to the car. They were exhausted! I've posted some pics from the zoo.

On Sunday we went to the Space Needle, Pike Street Market and the Seattle Aquarium. It was great. Ron was a little woozy going up the elevator to the top of the Space Needle, but he made it! It's definitely high up and Julia was not a fan of that. She wouldn't look over the edge and wanted to stay in the middle part of it and just sit at a table.

Refreshments anyone??
After coming down off the Space Needle the kids were able to go on some rides. I think this was their favorite part. Here are some pics of their favorite rides...
After the rides it was off to Pike Place Market where Ron got his 5 minutes of fame. He was picked to catch a fish at the World Famous Pike Place Fish Market. They had him go behind the counter and catch a big ol' fish. It was great. The part that was not so great was when they showed him how to catch the fish, they threw it from back behind the counter out to where I was standing. When the guy caught the fish, fish juice sprayed all over me. Not pretty, but a small price to pay for my husband's excitement.
Last but not least the aquarium. It was very fascinating seeing all the different sea critters. The kids loved it!

They even got their faces painted...
The kids were so great over the whole weekend. They did so much walking and just took in everything they got to see. It was so great. Ron's mom spoiled us all and we enjoyed every minute we got to spend with her. What blog entry would be complete without some candid family photos??

Oh I loved the fish market. I am so glad that you guys had fun!! Seattle is always a good idea, so call me. How did your pictures turn out?
I miss Seattle!!!! I'm so jealous. ;-) Your kids are just way too cute, I'm glad you had fun!
You should have seen the flag peter had hanging from our roof...until the wind blew it off and he was too lazy to put it back up:)by the way, peter wants everyone to know that he thought it was natalie but he wasn't sure. I guess he thought she was married and the blog says she is single so he says that is what threw him off....whatever...he remembers nothing!
Yeah you updated your blog!!! and with pics - my favorite! Looks like everyone had a blast. Now you're next trip should be down here....
